Dr Y C Bhatt

Dr Y C Bhatt Graduated from CTAE, Udaipur in 1978 and M.Tech (1980) &Ph.D (1989) from IIT Kharagpur. Presently working as Professor & Project Incharge (FIM & FMTC) Deptt of FMP, CTAE, with 36 years of service experience. Served as Head of Department for 7 years and now holding charge of Dean, Student Welfare, Chairman- University Sports Board MPUAT, Udaipur from 2013. Published more than 50 research papers in International and National Journals, seminar conferences, Eight edited books, 5 proceedings and guided PG students PG students for M.Tech (12) and PhD (3). He also completed 10research projects funded by various agencies. Few prototype technologies on farm mechanization has been developed under his supervision are whole plant maize thresher, air sleeve boom sprayer, garlic planter, multi crop seed drill cum planter, seed spices planter, seed spices thresher, garlic harvester, knapsack type pneumatic cotton plucker, spray drift evaluation and control , garlic harvester and stem & root cutter, mulching machine, variable rate spray applications for the benefit of farming community.

Serving professional societies as Executive Member of IEI, Udaipur and Rajasthan State Centre for more than 10 years, Honorary Secretary (Year 2009-11) and Chairman (2011-13) of Institution of Engineers India , Udaipur Local Centre. Organized 5 International Conferences and 18 National Conventions & All India Seminar of IEI, ISAE CSI & ACM. Started Er.MP Baya and Mrs Sheela Baya National Award of Rs 50000 and Rs 25000 and Scholarship for Engineering Students from IEI Udaipur Local Centre . Director of Farm Power and Machinery Group in Indian Society of Agri Engineers for the year 2012-15. National Convener of SIG on e-Agriculture in Computer Society of India from 2011.

Received awards of Appreciation Certificate for outstanding services in MPUAT, Udaipur (2009) and Scroll of Honour from IEI, ULC twice with Recognition of Eminent Contribution in the Profession of Agri Engineering (2013) .Fellow of ISAE New Delhi, Fellow and Chartered Engineers of IEI, and Life member of ISAE, SESI,CSI. Patron of Association of Agri Machinery Manufacturers of Rajasthan, Vice Chairman Elect and Chairman , CSI, Udaipur Chapter 2014-16, Chairman of Ag Engg Division Board The Institution of Engineers India from 2015-16. Vice Chairman ACM Udaipur chapter. The field of specialization is farm mechanization with involvement of ICT and serving the cause of farmers for development and popularization of farm machinery.
